The Bato National High School Administration is clarifying the recent incident and appealing to everyone to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information, rumors, or false reports that may cause unnecessary fear and panic within the school community.
The incident occurred outside the school premises. Some students from the higher floors of the school building noticed individuals outside who appeared to be in possession of what seemed to be a firearm. The students immediately reported the observation to the school office, allowing the school administration to take appropriate action.
The individuals involved were not members of the Bato NHS community and were identified as out-of-school youth. They were apprehended outside the school campus by the responding authorities.
The school administration commends the students and personnel who promptly reported the information and extends its sincere appreciation to the Barangay Bato Kagawads, Toledo City Police Station, and SWAT Team for their immediate and coordinated response.
Everyone is reminded to verify information before sharing and to avoid posting or circulating statements that have not been confirmed by the school administration or proper authorities.
